Currently, Instagram’s algorithm ranks posts on the homepage based on the user’s interest. Listening to the criticism that this experience leads to addiction, Mosseri said that in 2022, the chronological order will return.

One of these options will shape the home page according to your interests as always. However, the other two will list the posts you see in the stream chronologically.

- Home page: According to Adam Mosseri’s description, when you select the “Home page” option, the posts in the stream will be sorted according to your interests.
- Favorites: You can choose this to see the accounts whose posts you do not want to miss. Adam Mosseri said that he uses the Favorites option to follow what his brothers do, his favorite creators and his best friends.
- Follows: Just like before, you will see posts from your followers on the main page in chronological order.
