Chinese technology giant Xiaomi announced its foldable smartphone at the Mega Launch event held at the beginning of last year. The device, which was released under the name Mi MIX Fold, is the first model of Xiaomi in this sector.
It has been revealed that Xiaomi is working on a new foldable phone, less than a year after the Mi MIX Fold. The company has not officially announced its name, but it is estimated that the device will be called ‘Xiaomi Mix Fold 2’. Mix Fold 2 will come with 120Hz internal display
According to Digital Chat Station, the internal display of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will have a 120Hz refresh rate. 120Hz support was also present in the previous model, but it was only supported on the external display. The Chinese technology company will bring 120Hz to the internal screen by signing a significant upgrade on its new generation foldable phone.
According to the source, the external screen structure of Mi Mix Fold 2 will be similar to Honor Magic V in terms of display format. Magic V offers a 21:9 external display and a 10. 3:9 internal display. Thanks to these two formats, Honor provides an experience as if two 21:9 screens are side by side when the device is turned on.
It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor
Xiaomi’s new foldable phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Introduced in December, the 8-core Gen 1 is Qualcomm’s first 4nm chipset and includes ARMv9-based cores. The chipset, which offers 20 percent more processor performance than the Snapdragon 888, was first used in the Moto Edge X30.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is expected to be introduced in the first quarter of this year. However, the company will not break the tradition this year and will sell the device primarily in China.
