In a statement on its official blog, WhatsApp announced that it has introduced the feature of sending voice messages that disappear after being viewed once. Nowadays, where privacy is more important day by day, this feature coming to WhatsApp seems to make many users happy.
Voice message feature that disappears after being viewed once has arrived in WhatsApp
To increase privacy, WhatsApp introduced the View Once feature for photos and videos in 2021. The messaging app has now expanded this feature further and included voice messages. Now, when you select the View Once option for the voice message you have sent, your message will disappear after the other party listens to the message.
Voice messages that will disappear after being viewed once are indicated as “one-time”. Thus, the voice messages you send on matters whose privacy is important to you will become more secure. For example, if you are sending your credit card information or other critical information as a voice message, this feature will come in handy.
How to send WhatsApp lost voice message?
- Open the chat screen where you want to send a message.
- Press and hold the Microphone icon in the bottom right corner and drag it to the Lock icon.
- After you finish speaking, tap (1). When the (1) icon turns green, it means the message is set as a lost message.
- Finally, send the message.
A voice message that disappears after being viewed once is deleted after the other party listens to the message. Voice message is not recorded on the other party’s phone. However, remember that the other party may record your voice with another phone or recording device. However, lost voice messages cannot be forwarded to other people, saved or shared, and stars cannot be added to these contents. The lost voice message you send or receive is automatically deleted if it is not listened to for 14 days.
