According to the report published by JPR, graphics card shipments increased significantly in Q3 2023, increasing by 11.6 percent from quarter to quarter. While the reason for this is unknown, analysts point to the reductions applied by both AMD and Nvidia. We started to see price drops in the Niketim Radeon RX7600 and RTX 30xx/40xx series cards, especially in the global market.
Another factor behind the positive results is that modern APU systems now cover the GPU segment. Of course, a similar situation applies to CPU shipments. Because when we look at the shared table, we see that Nvidia has a share of 18 percent, Intel has a share of 68 percent, and AMD has a share of 14 percent.JPR says OEM and retail channels have been restocking their GPU supplies since the old inventory was cleared, and demand for next-gen GPUs is at its highest this year.
AMD led the way in GPU shipments, up 22.9 percent quarter-on-quarter, while Nvidia and Intel posted 7.5 percent and 11.7 percent gains, respectively. However, while Nvidia achieves its best results from laptops, AMD continues to lead in desktop computers. However, despite a positive quarter, annual shipments are still in negative territory (-27%).
For those who don’t know, the overall PC market, and thus the GPU market, has been in steady decline since 2010. However, analysts expect the situation to improve in the future. Finally, JPR reported that laptops account for 72 percent of the overall PC market, while desktops account for 28 percent.
