Hackers stole 1830 ETH (about $2.3 million) from TempleDAO protocol.

TempleDAO, a protocol that generates sustainable income through staking, has been hacked for $2.3 million, according to data from Etherscan.

TempleDAO Was Attacked by Hackers

A participant in the protocol said in a statement on the project’s Discord channel that CORE vaults holding over $100 million in stablecoins were not affected by the attack and that the malicious person could not do more harm.

DAO members stated that refunds will be made for all users affected by the attack.

Data from Etherscan shows that the project was withdrawn from the STAX staking vault on October 11 at 09:11 EST.

TEMPLE tokens were sold for the stablecoin named FRAX.

Smart contract and cross-chain blind protocols have suffered attacks over the past year that have resulted in significant losses. This has raised concerns about the issue. Another hacker recently stole $2 million from the WANplatform bridge.

Blockchain security firm Paladin claimed that the TempleDAO hack was related to a smart contract exploit unrelated to the bridge. This exploit resulted from a bug in one of the staking functions that allowed to move staked tokens from an old contract.

Paladin stated that the attack that took place was the least important attack in recent times.

After the attack, the native token of the protocol lost 20% of its value.
