Sony had received a patent weeks ago that recorded the phrase “cover for electronic device”. Before that, the Japanese company had closed factories producing removable and attachable covers in different colors for PlayStation 5 independently of itself.

These two events have already signaled that the officially produced replaceable covers for the PS5 are on the way. Recently, however, Sony announced these covers in person. Today, a short video has been released that reveals the looks of the covers.

Promotional video of the covers:

If you have a PS5, you may have noticed: The white covers on both sides of the console can come off. There are even those who act before Sony and produce covers in different colors and patterns that can be attached here. This is obviously the reason why Sony has already made the covers removable, and recently this intention was made clear for the first time.

Sony shared a 16-second video from YouTube today, after explaining the covers. There are console covers in 5 different colors in the video. The colors in the collection, which will be sold under the name ‘Galaxy’, were taken from the colors of space, as you can understand from the name of the collection.

Color controllers are also coming:

It will be sold as Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. In addition, controllers compatible with these colors will be released. Black and red covers will be available next January. The pink, blue and purple ones will be on the shelves in the first quarter of 2022, although the exact release date is not known.
