“Chinese government accessed TikTok data as it wanted”
According to a statement made by Yintao Yu, the Chinese government had full access to TikTok data, especially in 2017-2018. In fact, the government was able to provide “top-of-the-line” access to data stored in the US. Explaining that the Chinese government is using it to his advantage, the former ByteDance manager stated that the application is used as a propaganda tool.

Yu, who left his job at ByteDance in 2018, also made a statement that would be a bombshell in the interview he gave. According to Yu’s claim, ByteDance accepts whatever the government wants, as it fears that the Chinese government may block other applications that belong to it in China. These claims reveal that TikTok’s being seen as a “national security problem” in many places is not unfounded.
