US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that it is working on a new project that will attract attention. With these studies, the institution will investigate whether a Wi-Fi network can be established on the Moon. The new project started by NASA is part of the internet problem in Cleveland, USA. Acting upon Cleveland officials contacting the institution and asking them to solve the internet problem, NASA will establish a broadband internet network for the city and try to determine how it will be usable on the Moon. The institution wants to make this project a part of the Artemis project.
There may be no system difference between the Moon and Earth
A significant 31% of households in Cleveland do not have a broadband internet network. Here, NASA is considering turning this situation into an advantage and adapting it to the Moon. According to the statements made by the institution, adding Wi-Fi routers to the electricity poles in Cleveland at regular intervals will allow people to access the broadband internet network. If the special Wi-Fi router systems to be used in this city can be used on the Moon, the internet problem for our natural satellite may be a thing of the past.
NASA’s Artemis program aims to send humans back to the Moon. For the next process, even the establishment of a permanent facility on the Moon is on the agenda.
