Twitch, which has been criticized in the past for applying double standards to its users, will now allow everyone to share even a little bit of explicit content. Of course, there will be some conditions for this.
In Twitch’s statement on the subject, it was admitted that the platform’s nudity policy could not be understood because there were no clear lines. Stating that the new policy draws very clear lines, officials said that in the future, users will be able to better understand why they were banned.
So how has Twitch’s obscenity policy changed?
A few months ago, Twitch introduced a new feature called “taxation tag”. This feature offered special tags for live broadcasts containing explicit content. The new policy will make this label more prominent. Creators will be able to perform erotic dances and show off their bodies in publications containing obscenity tags. In addition, erotic character drawings can be made on live broadcast. There will be no ban in such cases.
However, it should not be forgotten that Twitch did not completely free sexuality. Sexual violence, pornographic content and sexuality-oriented games will continue to be banned on the platform. Additionally, sexually explicit content will not be shown on the Twitch streaming page. Users will need to find relevant content tags or directly from the creator.
