Recently, we often see sensational UFO – now known as UAP – news. This situation, which has spread over the past few years, has been progressing with high tension in recent months. This issue, which was seen as crazy nonsense and ridiculed in the past, has now turned into a serious phenomenon, with statements made by the Pentagon and NASA one after the other.

So much so that last year, NASA established a team of 16 people to investigate UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon). This team of prominent scientists examined data collected from the Pentagon and other sources. In previous meetings, NASA had stated that, according to the team’s investigations, there was no evidence that UAPs were of ‘extraterrestrial origin’. This statement is repeated frequently today. However, the team also said that they do not yet know what UAPs are. This situation was exemplified through a few events in the published report.

Key role of NASA was mentioned

In the live-streamed meeting, NASA officials emphasized that they needed much more and “high quality” data to solve the mystery of UAPs. It was also mentioned that NASA’s instruments and hardware will play a key role in ongoing UAP research. NASA also announced that it has appointed a UAP Research Director who will focus on research into UAPs. However, it was stated that this name will not be disclosed.

At the meeting, the team stated that NASA would transform the UAP issue from a frivolous field into a scientific event. The team’s general recommendation in the report to understand UAPs was that “new and robust data collection methods, advanced analysis techniques, a systematic reporting framework and reducing the stigma around reporting” are needed.

NASA stated that various data such as satellite images and technologies such as artificial intelligence should be used to contribute to the studies. The team also frequently emphasized that “if anything is detected or found, they will definitely share it.”

One of the striking details of the meeting was the statement made by NASA Administrator Bill Nelson at the beginning of the meeting. After talking about the size of the universe and the existence of billions of galaxies, Nelson said that he personally believes there is life somewhere.
