Google Podcasts is shutting down in April 2024. Before shutting down the Podcast service, Google also introduced the migration tool to help with the transition.Podcasts can be listened to on YouTube Music
Users will be able to easily transfer existing podcast subscriptions from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music with the migration tool. The migration tool is currently only available to users in the US, but will soon be available globally. The new transport vehicle can be accessed via the banner at the top.
Although the Google Podcasts application will be closed in April, users in America will be able to continue listening to podcasts until March 2024. Additionally, both migration and subscription export will be possible until July 2024. Users will be able to transfer their subscriptions to a podcast application of their choice as an OPML file via podcast.google.com/settings until August 2024.
Google says that podcasts can already be listened to on YouTube, and soon podcasts can be listened to on YouTube Music in all countries where YouTube Music is available. Users will be able to listen to podcasts in the background, download them, and switch between audio and video without signing up for a paid membership.
