According to the famous designer, these three models reveal the main lines of BMW design and manage to reflect the philosophy of the company. He even says that we can see the traces of these models in today’s cars. Here are the 3 most legendary models according to Stephenson:

BMW M1

BMW’s first and only supercar, the M1, was the dawn of the M series. The first example of the M series for performance enthusiasts, the M1 was a mid-engined supercar. The car, which was originally designed for Lamborghini, later underwent BMW training and was reshaped with the company’s design philosophy.

BMW E9

BMW’s first true sports car, the E9, is also referred to as a classic. When this car hit the road in the late 1960s, it also became a model that defined BMW’s characteristics. It had become one of the vehicles where today’s famous BMW designs were sitting.

BMW 507 Roadster

Stephenson’s last choice was the BMW 507 Roadster. This model by Albrecht Von Goertz is an example of perfect design. The purpose of the vehicle’s design is to compete with the SLS model of Mercedes, another German giant. With the BMW 507, the company had reached a new level in expressing itself in its designs. This model is still seen as one of the most elegant designs today.

According to BMW’s own legendary designer, these are the cars that the company has achieved perfection in terms of design. What do you think about these elections? What do you think are the most memorable models of the company?
