Facebook is testing a new feature on the platform. The company will allow users to create up to five profiles on a single account within this test. The platform will only want the user’s real name and surname in the main profile, and users will be able to use any nicknames they want in other connected profiles.
Hobby-oriented profiles can be created
Facebook doesn’t allow users to have multiple accounts, but with a new test, it will allow to create five different profiles with one account. With the new test, users will be able to create customizable profiles such as gaming and business-oriented with different profiles linked to the same account.
A spokesperson from Meta confirmed the test: “We’re experimenting with a way for people to have multiple profiles linked to a single Facebook account to help people tailor their experiences to interests and relationships. Everyone who uses Facebook must continue to abide by our rules.” made statements.
Facebook hasn’t disclosed how long it will try to be able to create up to five profiles with an account it’s testing extensively. Whether the feature will become widely available in the future will also be determined by the feedback received during the test.
