Finally, WhatsApp is trying to make things less awkward by removing the notification sent to everyone in the group when you want to leave a group chat. Currently, when a person leaves the group, a message appears on the chat screen that the person has left the group. This means that all other participants can instantly see that a person has left the group.
In the new feature, when you want to leave a WhatsApp group, other people in the chat will not be notified. The information that a person has left the group will only be shown to the group admins.
Although the screenshot shared by Wabetainfo is taken from the beta version of WhatsApp Desktop, it is estimated that the feature will be released in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS in the future. The feature is currently under development in the beta version of WhatsApp Desktop and is scheduled to roll out in an update in the coming days.
After WhatsApp confirmed that groups will be expanded to up to 512 members, along with message responses and higher file transfers, WhatsApp’s next goal seems to be to increase privacy.
Leaving a group can be a worrying moment when you start to think that a group is no longer for you. After each member in the group receives a notification, most likely many people will send you a separate message as to why you’re leaving.
