Despite the intense embargo of the USA, China tries every way it can and is getting rewarded for its efforts. China’s ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) announced the country’s first LPDDR5 memory.

Chinese LPDDR5

LPDDR5, the low-power DDR5 memory technology, is mostly preferred in mobile devices and laptop models. DDR5 technology has not yet reached widespread use on the desktop, but LPDDR5 has found a place for itself on the mobile side. In addition, faster LPDDR5X technology is also included in the flagships.

China has now adopted LPDDR5 technology. This is an important step for companies such as Huawei that have difficulty accessing technology. LPDDR5 RAM memories will of course be produced in China. Finally, it was stated that Chinese foundries were somehow able to reach the 7nm process. LPDDR5 products offer 50 percent higher speeds and 30 percent energy efficiency than the company’s previous generations.

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) started operations in 2016 and was known as Innotron. There are some technology partnerships with Rambus. The company also performs the inventory of the memories itself. In 2020, he was sued by Micron for alleged patent infringement. The company, which can produce 40 thousand license plates monthly, is not yet on the US blacklists.
