It’s almost confirmed that Samsung will stick to a quad-camera setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. While the new information largely confirms previous leaks, it also touches upon improvements in 8K video performance.
However, it is also stated that Samsung is collaborating with Meta for the Galaxy S24 series. It is said that this will increase the photo and video quality.
Camera features of Galaxy S24 Ultra became clear
For the Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to be released in early 2024, Samsung plans to ship 13.5 million regular models (38 percent) for the basic model, 5.8 million units (16 percent) for the Plus model and 15 million units for the Ultra model by the end of the year. It plans to sell 35.2 million units in total, 9 million units (45 percent).
On the camera side, it is said that the rear camera module of the Galaxy S24 Ultra will consist of 200 megapixel wide angle, 12 megapixel ultra wide angle, 10 megapixel telephoto (this sensor may be 3x or 10x) and 50 megapixel 5x telephoto. It is reported that 8K videos will be shot with the 50 MP telephoto camera and 5X zoom. This is likely due to the upgraded 50MP telephoto camera, which offers higher resolution and larger pixels, enabling improved light gathering. Galaxy S23 Ultra can also shoot 8K video, but all zooms in this mode are performed digitally.
The report also claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers portrait mode with 5x zoom. The phone also reportedly features improved stabilization in daylight and low light conditions. AI Object Aware Engine is reportedly working on the front and rear cameras. Meanwhile, on the front, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the same 12MP selfie camera seen in the Galaxy S23 series.
HDR image on Facebook and Instagram
Sources also claim that Samsung has partnered with Meta to offer improved image and video quality when sending images via Facebook and Instagram. Through the partnership, users will be able to send HDR images and videos to Meta’s social media applications and improve image quality while capturing memories directly within the social media applications. A previously published report claimed that the Galaxy S24 could send images to Instagram and Snapchat directly from the lock screen shortcut.
