Chinese tech giant Xiaomi announced at Mobile World Congress that its newest flagship phones will make their way to Europe and more markets next month. As you can imagine, both models share common features with the versions recently introduced in China.
Accordingly, the Xiaomi 13 has a 6.4-inch display with Full HD + resolution and 1,900 nits peak brightness. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is powered by a curved 6.7-inch AMOLED panel in 2K resolution. It should also be noted that both phones offer 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 + and Dolby Vision support.
Now faster with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. However, the main feature of these phones is the camera system signed by Leica. At this point, Xiaomi 13 hosts a triple sensor setup, including a 1/1.49-inch 50MP main camera with HyperOIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) camera with OIS.
The top model of the family, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, relies on the 1-inch Sony IMX989 for the primary camera. Additionally, it comes with a triple 50MP setup, including ultra-wide with autofocus support and telephoto with OIS offering 3x optical zoom. In addition, both phones are accompanied by a 32MP selfie sensor on the front.Xiaomi 13 will offer a battery capacity of 4,500mAh with 67W fast charging support, while Xiaomi 13 Pro will offer a battery capacity of 4,820mAh with 120W fast charging support with Xiaomi’s Surge G1 battery management chip. On the other hand, both phones are supported by 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Xiaomi’s new flagships come out of the box with MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and will be supported by four years of security patches in addition to three years of operating system. Other highlights of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, IP68 dust and water resistance, and an IR blaster.
