Before the update to version 2.23.15.14, group calling on WhatsApp was limited to only 7 people, which could be dysfunctional in some cases.
However, thanks to the new update, the number of people you can select for the first call increases to 15, while a total of 32 people can be found in group calls.
Last year, group searches were announced where more people could be found.
In April 2022, WhatsApp talked about the ability to make group calls with a maximum of 32 participants. In November 2022, Mark Zuckerberg also shared similar information about this feature, announcing that the 32-person group calling feature was made available to everyone after the meeting was started.
Finally, the expected feature has arrived. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta update 2.23.15.14 available on the Google Play Store, WhatsApp can now start conversations with a maximum of 15 people.
A maximum of 15 people can be selected when starting the call, but up to 32 users in total can participate.
As before, people will be able to join the group conversation at any time. While the number of people we can select for the first call increases to 15, up to 32 users can be invited later on. This update seems mainly focused on improving the ease of selecting participants in the group call creation process.
The ability to initiate group calls with up to 15 people is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta update from the Google Play Store. It will be made available to even more people in the coming days.
