One of the most famous survival games in the world; Deston, the new map of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, which can be played for free on PC and consoles, is finally out. The new map, which has an area of 8×8 km, promises to offer us different conditions in a very wide area. I had the chance to experience Deston, which offers many things from the city with the highest skyscrapers to the swamp environment on a single map, before I even debuted. Today, as a PUBG player, I will explain what innovations are in the new map and what these innovations bring to the experience of us players.
Announced under the codename “Kiki” during development, the Deston map brings radical innovations to PUBG in many ways. Deston, who preserved the fighting spirit of PUBG and took this spirit to the next level, according to my first impressions, he added something from himself by combining the spirit of many popular maps in the game in a single map. Let’s take a closer look at the gameplay of the Deston map, what innovations have come, and what these innovations add to us.
First impressions of PUBG Deston map: How is the gameplay feeling?
I’ve been testing the PUBG Deston map for a while. The first thing I noticed on the map is that it introduces players to mechanics that have not been seen in PUBG before. Another region of Deston, where you get impressions from the Erangel map with its central plains, can be an area dominated by sand and desert like Miramar. When you jump in the car and move to another area, you see a forest and swamp area like the Sanhok map. Of course, Deston is a completely different map and the only thing similar to other maps is the environmental similarity. Apart from that, it offers different things with its tall building, new tactics, items and more.
In general, the Deston map is an extremely fun map. Personally, I can say that Deston brings together the most popular elements from both Sanhok, one of my favorite maps, and other big and small maps, and it gives you a completely different experience every time with its different regions that you will never get bored with.
My favorite feature of the Deston map is when you struggle to survive in the swamp when you want, and then you find yourself trying to shoot people with a sniper rifle on the skyscrapers. Moreover, the features that come with the new map provide great convenience for you to move faster in a large map. This allows you to cross these distances faster, even if the distance is long.
What are the highlights of PUBG’s new map, Deston?
A city center full of skyscrapers: Ripton
This city center, submerged under flowing waters, elevates your gaming experience with its huge skyscrapers. Ripton, which will be a frequent destination for those who ambush the upper points of the skyscrapers, is a very risky area for those who are not careful.
An area that is knee-deep in water: the swamp
There are houses built on the waterfront in this area where there are trees, grass and lots of water. In this region where gaining space is very important, you will almost play a game of cat and mouse with your enemies.
Apart from these regions, there is a region called “Lodge” in the middle of the map. This region is home to the largest building in all maps in PUBG. It seems that this region will be one of the most frequented places, especially for players who want to fight.
What’s new with PUBG’s new Deston map?
Added 1 new weapon and vehicle in addition to the previously available weapons and vehicles in Deston. There are also map useful items to make it easier to move around the map. Let’s take a closer look at these innovations and see what they have added to us in terms of gameplay.
To quickly exit large buildings and cell towers: Riser
Along with PUBG’s Deston map, a new feature called Booster has been added. Thanks to this feature, you will be able to get up and down quickly on vertical planes. Especially in the Ripton area, where skyscrapers abound, we frequently use these risers to go up and down the buildings.
Sniper; that is, in the Ripton region, which will be a frequent destination for those who want to be a sniper, we can move very quickly in the vertical plane by using the Booster. This allows us to enjoy the game instead of spending a long time on the stairs to get to the top of huge buildings. Risers aren’t just found in skyscrapers. You can find high-rise buildings in many parts of the map, as well as using boosters to get to base stations. These base stations are huge structures and allow you to climb to the top and fly with a parachute again. This allows you to move much faster with a parachute instead of walking a distance.
For those who are not afraid of jumping from height: Always available parachute
Wanted to jump off the skyscrapers you climbed with the elevator ropes? parachute in Deston; The map appears as a useful item. This means you have unlimited parachutes. You can use your parachute when you want to climb a skyscraper and jump without using the riser. Flying with a parachute will give you significant speed on this large map.
Deston’s surprise eggs: drone-accessible areas
When you want to find quality items, just like drops, on the new map, what you will look for will be areas that are not accessible to you and can only be accessed by drones. Normally, you can access the top and bottom of a skyscraper, but with the help of a drone, you can explore the private rooms in the middle floors and not loot the contents of these rooms.
The feature that will take the discovery to the next level: Security keys and security doors
Who doesn’t want quality items? But achieving them always requires some risk. If you collect security keys around, the Deston map offers you a completely different challenge. With these keys, you can open the security doors and have high-level items. While these keys appear in various parts of the map, security gates can be found in buildings in Deston.
While ready-made petrol prices have risen: Gas stations
One of the new features coming to PUBG’s new map Deston was the gas station. To refuel your vehicle, you can stop by a gas station that comes your way. From here you can quickly fill the car’s gas. Of course, keep in mind that this is risky. When you fire the gas pump at the gas station, after a while, a huge explosion awaits you. By firing more, the explosion time of the gas station can be shortened. This new system also seems very useful for players who like to ambush and kill people.
The fastest pump in the world: O12
Along with the Deston map coming to PUBG, a brand new weapon appeared. The world’s fastest shotgun, the O12, is an extremely deadly weapon at close and medium ranges, with heavy ammo fired at high capacity. O12, which has a longer firing range and accuracy compared to other shotguns, is one of the weapons you can call intimidating. We’re talking about a shotgun that shoots like an automatic rifle, for sure it can be annoying to be in front of you.
Vehicle that can travel both on land and in water: swamp boat
Among the features that come with the new map, this vehicle is one of the most interesting. Thanks to the swamp boat, you can travel on different terrain types. The swamp boat, which can move very fast in swamps, shallow waters and open waters, can also travel on land. The vehicle, which can jump while cruising, can carry up to 5 players. The fact that it can go anywhere makes it one of the most effective tools when crossing a field.

The Deston map, which I have been testing and enjoying on test servers for a while, is indeed one of the fullest maps that PUBG has ever produced. Frankly, I loved Deston very much, not only in terms of its size, but also when I said the city in it, areas with different atmospheres, new features that have never been seen, wide and long roads where you can speed.
