Spotify, the world’s most popular online music and podcast platform, is working on a feature that is surprising but will please some users. A new feature detected in the platform’s beta version codes reveals that Spotify’s “personal recommendations” feature will become optional.
The general logic in Spotify is to give recommendations based on your listening habits. Thanks to this feature, the user always listens to music he/she likes. It looks like this feature will be optional very soon. Users can turn off this feature if they wish.
The new feature will be useful for joint users of an account
The new feature, which appeared in Spotify’s beta version codes, will be useful for shared accounts. Let’s say that sometimes you and sometimes someone else in your household uses the Spotify application on your computer. By turning off the personal recommendations feature, users’ musical tastes will not interfere with each other.
There was no statement from Spotify regarding the issue. However, a spokesperson told MacRumors that the new feature, which has not yet reached wide user bases, is in the “evaluation” phase. Stating that they will continue to work to make Spotify better, the spokesperson did not make a statement about how song suggestions will be made to users after this feature is turned off.
