According to DigiTimes, the $12 billion facility will be the first of its kind in the US to mass-produce 5nm chips. Last year, TSMC president Mark Liu said the company’s Arizona facility will begin mass production of the chips in the first quarter of 2024. The main customers of the new factory are Nvidia, Qualcomm and Apple.
