Meta’s Twitter rival, Threads, which has not been on the agenda lately, has received its first major update for the iOS ecosystem. With this major update, brand new features have been added to the mobile application of the platform. We expect the same features to come to the Android ecosystem in the near future. When we look at the statements made by Cameron Roth, one of the iOS developers of Instagram and Threads, we see that the important shortcomings of Threads have been eliminated for many users. On the other hand; Threads got a little closer to Twitter with this update. However, for now, there is no feature that will take the platform to an extraordinary place.
Here are the brand new features of Threads:
- A button that allows the shares to be translated.
- View only the posts of followed users.
- Subscribe to unfollowed users.
- Private list of Instagram followers.

As you can see above, one of the most important innovations in Threads is to display only the shares of followed users. It’s the same on Twitter. When you enter the “Followed” section, you can see only the accounts you follow, and in the “Personal for you” section, you can see the posts made from the accounts you may be interested in. This feature is now also available in Threads. On the other hand; Let’s say that the Instagram followers section is also important.
