Samsung has already announced that the Galaxy S23 series sells much more than the Galaxy S22 series. It even claimed that sales in some markets were up to 70% higher in the first month compared to previous generation models. And now, a new report from Canalys confirms that the Galaxy S23 series is selling really well worldwide. At least when compared to its Android rivals…
The report shows that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the world’s best-selling Android smartphone in the first quarter of 2023. The S23 Ultra, which ranks fifth in the list of the world’s best-selling high-end smartphones, still could not escape being behind the iPhone models.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max was the world’s best-selling high-end phone, while the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 were second, third and fourth, respectively. The base Galaxy S23 was in seventh place, while the Galaxy S23+ was in ninth place.

Galaxy S22 12th and Galaxy S21 FE 15th place. Only one phone from Huawei and Xiaomi entered the list. The Xiaomi 13 was ranked 13th, while the Huawei Mate 50 was ranked 14th.
The report also shows that people have been buying higher-end phones over the past few years. In 2019, 22% of all smartphones sold were priced at or above $500, but in the first quarter of 2023, that rate increased to 31%.
