TECNO produces successful phones with its CAMON series. Especially the Gimbal capability of the camera of the CAMON 18 Premier, which we reviewed before, was quite remarkable. Those who use it will also agree with us.
The CAMON series, which consists of devices that we can position in the middle and upper-middle segments, has always stood out with its camera features since the first generation. However, this time, TECNO was not satisfied with just the camera and gave great importance to the design. So much so that it showed how good a job it did in design by winning the Gold award at the MUSE Design Awards this year. There are different models in the new series. However, what interests us today is the CAMON 20 Pro model we have.
What are the TECNO CAMON 20 Pro Camera Capabilities?
First of all, we want to take a closer look at the cameras, because there are very important details here. CAMON 20 Pro has a triple camera setup on the back. The star of the show is the main sensor with 64MP resolution with f/1.70 aperture. This sensor, called RGBW Ultra, is a joint effort between TECNO and Samsung and can take bright and colorful photos even in low-light environments.
As you can see on the screen, the details are sharp and the tones are realistic in the photos we took in daylight. There is also an AI feature in the camera menu to improve colors. This mode saturates the colors slightly. This level of saturation may appeal to most users; Some people may like more distinct tones.
The low light performance of the camera is also quite successful. The resulting noise level is low and it adjusts the light evenly. On the other hand, there is a ring-shaped flash next to the main camera for pitch-dark environments and the illumination level is extremely high.
In the camera ring you see under the main sensor, there is a 2MP depth sensor and an artificial intelligence-supported auxiliary sensor. This smart sensor, which TECNO calls AI CAM, is very successful in improving the photos taken. He shows his talent especially when it comes to illuminating photos taken in low light.
When it comes to selfies, CAMON 20 Pro gets help from the 32 MP sensor on the front. The colors here are also lifelike and perform well under all lighting conditions. On the other hand, the phone’s portrait algorithm draws its power from a 1 billion-degree data platform consisting of high-quality images. Additionally, according to TECNO’s statement, it can detect 7 different skin tones with a 95 percent accuracy rate. There are also many beautification effects in portrait mode, from artificial intelligence smart beauty effect to skin color, from thin nose to enlarging eyes.
When we look at other camera modes, everything is standardized. Two different options stand out; one of them is “AR shooting” and the other is “SKY STORE”. In AR Shooting, you can create a virtual avatar for yourself and change its voice and background. In the SKY STORE, you can apply a filter to the sky with one of the options offered by the phone.
On the video side, CAMON 20 Pro can record 30 fps video at 2K resolution. If you want to record 60 fps, 1080p or 720p options are also available. The Ultra Stabilization feature in the video settings is very good at preventing shaking. On the other hand, TECNO did not forget about digital content producers and did not forget to add the “Dual Video” mode, which allows using both the front and rear cameras at the same time.
How is the TECNO CAMON 20 Pro Design?
Now, as we mentioned at the beginning, CAMON 20 Pro has an award-winning design and is in a different line than the smartphones we are used to seeing recently. Although its back surface, decorated with geometric patterns, is plastic, it has a soft, leathery texture. The frames are also plastic, but they look like aluminum.
Inside the pentagon-shaped camera module, there are 2 large camera rings and a 4-ring flash next to it. The color option we have is called Peace Blue. Apart from this, Pre-Dawn Black, Glacier Glitter and a specially designed Mr. There are 3 more options, including doodle.

It has high readability even in brightly lit areas. Colors are vibrant but not oversaturated. Here TECNO has done a great job in calibrating the screen.
The screen with DCI-P3 color gamut does justice to the AMOLED panel. When watching videos on YouTube and Instagram, the level of sharpness and detail looks impressive. We did not experience any freezing or frame drops in our PUBG test either. On the other hand, there are no problems such as heating, because the special cooling system in the phone prevents this.
In terms of software, the phone runs Android 13 and HiOS 13 is used in the interface. In addition, CAMON 20 Pro is among the first devices planned to receive the Android 14 update. Thus, it may be the right choice for those who want to have an up-to-date phone. The interface is simple to use and does not take much time to get used to. You can easily find everything with a small menu navigation. TECNO really deserves credit for this as it gradually improves its software every year.
CAMON 20 Pro has a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. We did not need to charge it for about 1.5 days with moderate use. In intensive use, the battery only starts giving warnings after 1 day. However, the 33W fast charger included in the box can charge the phone to full capacity in approximately 90 minutes.
