Andretti Autosport and Cadillac want to enter Formula 1!
Andretti Autosport has previously stated that he wants to enter Formula 1. Now, the company is preparing to step into the biggest organization of motor sports by taking Cadillac with it. The new company, called Andretti Cadillac, is set out with the goal of an “all-American Formula 1 team.”
The FIA has recently announced that they will work to bring new teams to the organization. There has been no development in this regard yet, but Andretti Cadillac will present the official letter of intent when the FIA initiates the official process.
It is not yet known when Andretti Cadillac will make his debut. The company announced that they want to start the competition as soon as possible. The team, which wants to enter Formula 1 as soon as possible, also wants to include at least one American driver. The first candidate for this is Colton Herta, who is racing for Andretti Autosport in IndyCar.
Andretti Cadillac plans to procure the engine from another manufacturer in the first place. Honda is seen as the first serious candidate in this regard. The Japanese manufacturer announced that it would return to the organization in 2026 with a statement made in the past period. Andretti and Cadillac will assist Honda in engine development. In the future, the newly established team plans to manufacture the power unit itself.
As it is known, Audi will enter Formula 1 in 2026, replacing Alfa Romeo. For Andretti Cadillac to step into the organization, the number of teams currently needs to be increased to 11. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem is also keen on increasing the number of teams. According to the allegations, the number of teams in the organization can be increased to 12 in the coming period.
