The Call of Duty Endowment is a nonprofit that helps unemployed veterans get up and running again and hosts an annual video game tournament called the Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) Bowl. In the CODE Bowl, 6 branches of the US Armed Forces and 3 branches of the UK military compete in the esports tournament, and all proceeds from the competition go to CODE’s mission to empower veterans into high-quality careers.

The US Space Force, the Space Force, which won the second CODE Bowl last year, launched its trophy into space before this year’s tournament to be held in Raleigh, North Carolina on December 16 and provoked its opponents by writing “come and get it” with a permanent pen on the prize. . According to a report in Task & Purpose, Space Force hired a private company in the UK to launch the mug out of Earth’s atmosphere and prepared the mug to withstand intense G forces, temperature and pressure changes.

Dan Goldenberg, executive director of the Call of Duty Endowment, said in a press release: “This year the CODE Bowl will take Raleigh, North Carolina, with a thrilling Warzone 2.0 battle, and we’ll see if anyone can take the trophy from Space Force. It will be immensely fun to watch, but we never lose sight of our important mission of placing 61 percent of veterans identified as unemployed or underemployed into meaningful careers.”

Founded by Activision, the Call of Duty Endowment awards cash prizes to organizations that have a proven track record of recruiting veterans. CODE said in a press release that they spent an average of $547 per veteran to recruit veterans in 2021, and that figure could include all veterans struggling with professional development, especially after serving in the field.
