Spotify, the world’s most popular online music and podcast platform, announced its new feature called “Jam”. The new feature, which is accessible to all users whether they are premium or not, allows users to create playlists together and listen to them at the same time. With Spotify Jam, users will be able to start “music parties” even if they are far away from each other.
Spotify’s new feature comes into play when a Premium subscriber starts a Jam. Users on the same Wi-Fi network will see a notification about Jam when they open the Spotify app and can connect to this playlist if they wish. Jam sharing can also be done via Bluetooth connection. Remote users will be able to join the Jam using a QR code or link. A user who is not a Spotify Premium subscriber will not be able to create a new Jam, but will be able to connect to another user’s Jam.
It will be up to the user to decide who has control over the playlist.
The user who creates a Jam list on Spotify will determine who will have control of the playlist. In this context; If the user wishes, he can create a playlist on his own and open it for collaborative play. Users who wish will create a joint playlist and determine the songs to be played together. Meanwhile; Although Jam will work like a collaborative playlist, it is not a permanent list. The list will disappear after the song added to the queue ends. Additionally, ending the Jam will result in the loss of songs added to the list.
Spotify Jam has now reached all users around the world. All you need to do to access this new feature is to update the application. After completing the update process, open Spotify and tap the speaker button on the play page. Just below the “Current device” section, you will see the “Start Jam” option. Once you tap this, you will start using the Spotify Jam feature.
