Recently, Qualcomm introduced its new flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. While the new platform is expected to be the most powerful mobile processor in the Android world, it is also very curious what it will offer against the Apple A16 Bionic, which powers the iPhone 14 Pro series. Today, two flagship processors were brought face to face by MacRumors.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 faces Apple A16 Bionic

According to the shared early benchmark results, the new generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 achieves a performance of 1483 points in a single core and 4709 points in a multi-core. When we compare the said scores with its rivals, A16 Bionic and A15, and Bionic, we can say that the results are surprising. In the same tests, the Apple A16 Bionic scores 1874 and 5372, while the A15 Bionic scores 1709 and 4766.

Based on the leaked data, we can say that the new generation Snapdragon flagship lags behind its rival. However, today, there may be differences between synthetic tests and real performance. Because during the promotional event, Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will offer a big improvement in power efficiency and artificial intelligence.

Also, recent leaks show that the Galaxy S23 series, which will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, will come with increased clock speeds. This may cause the ranking of the benchmark results to change.
