SBF’s legal team, former CEO of FTX, requested seal documents regarding his relationship with Caroline Ellison.

SBF’s legal team has made a new request to the judge. The team requested court seal documents to the interview, which revealed details about SBF’s relationship with Caroline Ellison.

SBF’s legal team made a request for confidentiality

Sam Bankman-Fried’s legal team requested court-seal documents to prevent public disclosure of documents containing interviews the former FTX CEO had with a New York Times reporter, revealing details about his relationship with Caroline Ellison. Prosecutors were pressured to have SBF’s $250 million bail revoked, for allegedly providing this information in an attempt to pressure his former romantic partner and colleague Ellison.

Inner City Press, the news outlet on the case, disputed the request for the documents to be sealed, claiming that such an order was inconsistent, stating that this information had already been given to a media outlet.

According to details from Caroline Ellison’s diary in her story published in the New York Times, she says she felt overwhelmed by her position at Alameda Research and decided to leave Sam Bankman-Fried.

The SBF is currently under a temporary silence order, which prevents him from making extrajudicial testimony regarding the criminal case. Judge Kaplan will accept the arguments made by prosecutors and Bankman-Fried’s legal team regarding the bail conditions and will consider his detention until the October hearing.

Prosecutors said they expect to drop the charge on campaign finance violations against the SBF due to the terms of the extradition deal with the Bahamas. The former CEO of FTX is on trial for 12 counts in two separate cases to be held in October 2023 and March 2024.
