It was claimed that the brother of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and former CEO of FTX, will buy the island.

It was alleged that Gabriel Bankman-Fried, brother of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), would buy the island. Allegedly, Gabriel wants to buy the island with funds he embezzled with the FTX Foundation.

The claim that Gabriel Bankman-Fried will buy an island came to the fore

Gabriel Bankman-Fried, SBF’s brother, made several plans to survive a global catastrophe using funds allegedly embezzled through the FTX Foundation. According to court documents, his plans also included buying the island nation of Nauru in the Pacific and preparing for a potential apocalypse. He had planned to buy the island of Nauru, create a sanctuary and establish a laboratory focused on improving human genetics.

Prior to the fall of FTX in November 2022, Gabriel founded Protection Against Pandemics, a nonprofit organization aimed at preparing for the next COVID-19 outbreak. However, due to the bankruptcy of the crypto exchange, he left his position as the executive director of the organization.

Gabriel’s brother, Sam Bankman-Fried, faces charges, including fraud related to merging funds between FTX and Alameda Research. The criminal trial against him in the United States will be held on October 2. It’s unclear whether Gabriel will testify against his brother, but debtors in the FTX bankruptcy case are considering calling him in court to provide information about any financial benefits he may have received from FTX.
