Samsung will provide iPhone 15 OLED screens
BOE’s OLED panels are said to have failed Apple’s quality control testing. That’s why Apple will give most of its screen orders to its Korean business partner.
While LG and Samsung were expected to produce the LTPO OLED screens of the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro Max, BOE was expected to provide the panels for the LTPS OLED screens of the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. However, BOE’s panels fell short of Apple’s requirements. Rumor has it that the Chinese manufacturer had issues with the punch-hole notch for Face ID, and Apple switched suppliers from whom it would place orders at the last minute.
More than 70% of iPhone 14 models use Samsung’s OLED panel.
