Realme introduced its new flagship phone at an event in China. Realme GT 5 Pro has one of the largest heat dissipation units on the inside with a surface area of 12,000mm2. The rear panel features a large, circular camera area that houses the image sensor, as well as a glass panel cover (in orange and white vegan leather) that adds a premium look. Realme GT5 Pro has a 50MP primary camera at the back, carrying Sony’s LYT-808 sensor. The main camera is accompanied by a 50MP Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto camera, which supports 3x optical zoom and up to 120x hybrid zoom, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra wide-angle camera. There is a 32MP camera on the front, but this camera recognizes the user’s palm print. Realme said palm unlocking works faster than facial recognition, thanks to machine learning using more than 10,000 models. The company even claimed that this security feature passed the security system bypass test, which included more than 10 million attacks.
Realme GT5 Pro also supports various hand gestures. You can access the last open applications by pinching, and you can switch between applications by swiping left or right. A screenshot is taken with a three-finger palm gesture. Turning the palm returns to the main screen. Moving the thumb to the left performs the backward rotation function. Finally, the screen turns off when the palm is moved towards the screen.VC cooling system, USB-C port (USB 3.2), in-screen fingerprint reader, built-in artificial intelligence assistant using an AI model with 7 billion parameters are among the other features of the phone. Realme will offer 4 years of security updates and 3 years of major Android operating system updates for the GT 5 Pro. The phone comes with Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14.
