There is no one who has not heard of 5G, one of the most talked about technologies of recent times. 5G, which can also be described as the 5th Generation Mobile Telecommunications Service, is a fourth generation technology that is twenty times faster than 4G. This technology, which is stated to provide speeds ranging from 1 to 10 Gbps, is expected to leapfrog wireless internet technologies. However, as with other technologies, many people claim that this technology carries some risks.

The claim that 5G emits harmful radiation is also among the risks of this technology. Many people who think that 5G emits radiation also use some products that are claimed to be developed to protect against this situation. Now, a warning has come from the Netherlands for these products. Authorities; revealed that these products are not preservatives, on the contrary, they are harmful.

Products claiming to be protective emit ionizing radiation

The Netherlands Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Agency (ANVS) announced in a new warning that they detected ten products that were determined to emit ionizing radiation. Experts urged people not to use these products, which could harm them in the long run. After that, it was stated that these products are banned in the country because they contain harmful radiation.

It should be noted that there is no evidence that 5G is harmful to health. The World Health Organization also stated in its previous statements that the 5G mobile network is safe and that this technology is not much different from the existing 3G and 4G. In addition, it has been stated many times by experts that mobile networks use non-ionizing and DNA-damaging radio waves.

Products for children pose a great risk

Despite these statements, many people continue to turn to products that claim to protect from 5G. Among these products identified by ANVS were products such as sleep masks, bracelets and necklaces, which are described as “energy armor”. In addition, a wristband designed for children by the brand Magnetix Wellness was found to be radioactive, emphasizing the seriousness of the risks to children.

ANVS officials stated in their statement that the full list of products is available on their website, and said: “The sale of these products, as specified by ANVS and located in the Netherlands, is prohibited. Therefore, sales should be stopped immediately and customers should be informed about this issue. ”

Similar ‘conspiracy theories’, which have been put forward before, have led to the spread of products that make such false promises. In May 2020, authorities in the United Kingdom stopped the sale of a £339 USB stick that allegedly provided protection from 5G. Due to such events, many experts began to emphasize that people should not believe in misdirections and claims about 5G, and that such products should not be purchased.
