As of August 30, 2022, more than 500 unidentified flying objects (UFOs) were reported in the United States. The report by the Pentagon’s Office of National Intelligence (ODNI) shows that the US government takes UFOs seriously.

US takes UFO problem seriously

According to the report, the vast majority of anomalies were observed by US Navy and Air Force pilots, as well as occasional civilian witnesses. It is also noted that no US aircraft collisions with UFOs have been recorded.

In 2021, US intelligence released a report stating that UFOs could pose a problem for the country’s national security, and the document recorded 144 cases of suspected UFO sightings that could not be properly explained.

UFO research requires huge resources

It is noted that 366 of the 510 reports were published after the establishment of AARO (Anomaly Resolution Office in All Areas). 26 of them are unmanned aerial systems or unmanned aerial vehicles; 163 of them are balloons or something similar; Six are defined as flocks of birds or air clumps such as floating plastic bags.

Of the 366 characterized cases, the remaining 171 are “unidentified and unrelated” events. Experts note that there are no firm conclusions about the nature of these phenomena, and their study will take a lot of time and significant resources.
