The Samsung One UI 6.0 update does not support an Android 14 feature that shows the battery health status of the smartphone. This information has been confirmed by GalaxyClub as a result of testing on the Galaxy S23.

Developed with a similar approach to what Apple offers on the iPhone, this new Android API not only shows whether the battery is at maximum capacity or is worn out, but also counts charge cycles.

However, it turns out that with the One UI version 6.0, Samsung does not display this information natively in the UI. At the same time, the company prevents individual applications from accessing this data.

Some battery stats are not showing

In the experiment, aBattery, one of the first applications to use the new API, was installed on the Galaxy S23 running Android 14 beta. However, it was seen that the application could not access this information. As a result, you are currently unable to see the battery statistics listed below on your Samsung phone:

  • Maximum capacity (via Android 14 API)
  • Production date
  • First use date
  • Charge voltage
  • Charging policy

For now, Samsung One UI 6.0 only offers users basic information such as battery status and total battery capacity. The Korean brand has not yet commented on the subject. In any case, the company may add support for the battery API before the final version of the software is released. We’ll wait and see.
