After the GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 cards, which focused on the desktop, Nvidia has turned its focus to the RTX 40 mobile graphics cards. The company announced that it would organize an event called GeForce Beyond a few days later, and this card is also expected to be introduced at the event.On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4090 mobile was revealed on a gaming laptop labeled as “X370SNx” by Geekbench test software, but with no brand or model. This laptop also includes a 24-core Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, which Intel will announce at CES 2023.
Mobile RTX 4090 surpasses desktop RTX 3090
However, the resulting RTX 4090 mobile GPU is expected to have the same features as the desktop RTX 4080 GPU on paper. In other words, Nvidia will position the AD103 graphics core with 9728 CUDA cores in this mobile beast. Similarly, the mobile RTX 4090 will have 16 GB of memory, but unlike the RTX 4080, standard mobile GDDR6 memories will be used instead of GDDR6X. As seen on Geekbench, the GeForce RTX 4090 mobile card appears to be running at 2040 MHz. Therefore, we can say that this card will have 38.9 TFLOPs of computing power.It should be noted that the OpenCL score of over 210,000 obtained by the RTX 4090 mobile in Geekbench is not one of the best benchmarks for gaming performance. But it’s okay to use it as a general point of view. Accordingly, the mobile RTX 4090 is slightly better than the RTX 3090 in terms of performance. It is almost identical to the RTX 4070 Ti. It’s also 54 percent faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile.
We expect both the RTX 4070 Ti and the RTX 40 mobile family for laptops to be announced at Nvidia’s event on January 3. We will probably see products using these hardware at the CES 2023 fair, which will be held on January 5-8.
