Xiaomi is working on a new foldable phone. The company launched the Mix Fold in China earlier this year. The foldable smartphone is very similar to the mechanism of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The device has not been officially released outside of China yet.
Images of Xiaomi’s new foldable phone came under the application number 2020301357510. The images do not reveal the device’s name and specifications. Still, it is enough for us to know about the design features and other important elements of the foldable Xiaomi.
Xiaomi’s new foldable phone looks like Galaxy Z Flip 3
Xiaomi has applied for a new patent for a Flip phone with a foldable screen. The folding mechanism is quite similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details regarding its current Flip-style smartphone.
Apart from design, the Xiaomi Flip smartphone has a rectangular section. We see that it has a small screen and dual camera setup. There’s a cutout on the camera module for an LED flash, which is probably revealed when folded.

When you turn on the smartphone, a long screen welcomes you. At the moment, the company has not disclosed details about the screen size. All that is known at this point is that there is a pill-shaped cut in the upper left corner. This means that it can host a dual front camera setup. There are thick bezels around the screen. On the right side of the bezel are the power and volume keys.
On the bottom edges are the USB Type-C port, the speaker grille and the SIM card slot. The left and top edges line up. It does not contain any ports or buttons. We do not yet know about other details of the flip phone. Sharing more information from Xiaomi is within expectations.
It could compete with Samsung’s Z Flip series next year
Looking at it, Xiaomi’s foldable phone may launch next year as a competitor to the Samsung Z Flip series. As we mentioned above, there are no official details on this subject either.
