Apple continues to release interim updates that focus on fixing security issues for iPhone and iPad users. Accordingly, iOS 17.1.2 and iPadOS 17.1.2 packages were released.
Updates released globally are currently available for download on devices running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17. To install the latest package of 526 MB, simply follow Settings > General > Software Update.
Apple’s release notes do not contain detailed explanations for iOS 17.1.2 and iPadOS 17.1.2. The company stated that it was only addressing “important security vulnerabilities” and that users should install it immediately. On the other hand, let us remind you that no new features are offered with this package.
Apple launched iOS 17.1.1 and iPadOS 17.1.1 packages about 10 days ago. These minor updates also aimed to fix systemic errors and performance problems.
Apple is also working on iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2, which are expected to be released in December. These packages are expected to address battery and heating problems in the iPhone 15 Pro series. It also seems like it will be a comprehensive package against security vulnerabilities seen in iOS 17.
