READING NOW It was claimed that the apology message published for Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Game was written by artificial intelligence

Lord Of The Rings: Gollum, published by Daedalic Entertainment in May 2023, was soon subject to intense criticism from many players. The in-game graphics, the game story not being faithful to the LOTR series, and the Gollum game being very difficult to play, suddenly lowered the expectations of its fans and received very low scores.

After bad reviews and low scores, game publisher Nacon published an apology letter to fans of the game. But allegedly, this letter was written with ChatGPT.

Famous journalist Knoebel shares this claim with a post showing the behind-the-scenes of the turmoil at Daedalic Entertainment.

“According to Daedalic, the budget for ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ was around 15 million Euros (approximately $15.9 million).

He then publishes the full apology message and says it was created with ChatGPT.

“My favorite episode. This apology from Nacon was written in ChatGPT.”

Knoebel is preparing a documentary showing the behind-the-scenes of the events taking place at Daedalic Entertainment, and the Game Two channel is broadcasting this documentary.

Allegedly, the developers at Daedalic Entertainment say that the apology was released without their knowledge and that they were not even aware of it. Nacon published this apology letter without permission from the developers, and Knoebel says in the documentary that it was created by artificial intelligence.

Apart from the publication of the apology message, which is said to have been prepared with ChatGPT, there is another noteworthy detail in the text, and that is the misspelling of the game name. In the first paragraph, the name of the game is written as “Lord Of The Ring: Gollum”. Most likely, ChatGPT created such a text because it could not access information from 2021 and before. This must be an example of the phrase ‘his apology is worse than his fault’.

The full documentary is now live on the Game Two channel on YouTube. This documentary gives some information about “Lord Of The Rings: Gollum”, one of the worst games released in 2023. The patches released did not stop the bad reviews of the game, and Daedalic is currently focused only on game publishing.

It is not yet known what Daedalic Entertainment will do after this incident. Naturally, the excitement of fans waiting for other games in the Lord of the Rings series has decreased.
