If you are wondering how common your birthday is, a density map shared on the internet can satisfy your curiosity. This map shows that (in the US at least) more people are born in September and July, with the rarest birthdays being in November, December, and January.

For Europe and America, the 12th, 18th, 25th and 26th days of September, which is about nine months after the Christmas period (December), were found to be the most common birthdays.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, New Year’s Day and Christmas Day stand out as two of the least likely days to be born. But it may be surprising that some dates also accompany low birthdays, such as the 4th of July (US Independence Day) and the end of November.

The popular birthdays in September are believed to be due to the cold weather experienced during the previous winter, encouraging more people to stay indoors.

The most common day in this dataset is September 9, while the second is September 19. The map also shows that US public holidays, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and 4th of July, are the least likely days for births.

While most public hospitals in the US refuse to schedule cesarean sections on national holidays except in emergencies, many private hospitals also schedule less than the number of cesareans normally scheduled.

The 13th of each month is also seen among the days when births are less, and it can be guessed that this situation is probably due to superstitions.

In addition, scientists have determined the best time and months for couples who want a baby. Research shows that if couples trying to have a baby want to get pregnant, it may be the best time to have intercourse before 7:30 a.m. in the spring mornings.

Scientists at University Hospital Zurich say sperm have their own 24-hour internal clock, which is strongest in the early morning. Swiss researchers also discovered that in March, April and May, sperm have the healthiest size and shape to fertilize an egg.

The experts analyzed semen samples from 7,068 men aged 25 and 40 undergoing fertility treatment. Samples were cross-checked for sperm concentration, total sperm count, progressive motility and normal morphology.

Lead author Dr. Brigitte Leeners says, “Male sperm quality varies with both circadian and annual rhythms. “Early morning semen collection, when sperm quality is highest, can be used to improve natural fertility.”
