Google will solve the spam problem with artificial intelligence

Probably everyone who uses a phone has encountered spam calls from unwanted numbers. It looks like Google is working on a solution to deal with all the unwanted calls a person has to deal with on a daily basis. The company is working on a method to effectively deal with all spam or automated calls using artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence will save you from unwanted calls

Currently, Google offers some AI-powered search filtering features on its Pixel series smartphones to help deal with this issue, but this only addresses the issue to a certain extent. However, it looks like Google is looking to create a more capable technology that will better help users avoid these spam/auto-calls thanks to conversational AI. According to a recent report, Jonathan Eccles, group product manager of Phone by Google, talked about how he wants to solve the problems related to spam calls.

In his statement, Eccles pointed to artificial intelligence as the solution to his problem. Unwanted calls will be overcome with conversational, conversational artificial intelligence to be developed. How the feature works isn’t exactly explained, but it looks like the incoming call will automatically be forwarded to an AI response. Google’s major language model LaMDA already powers ChatGPT rival Bard and will likely be used for call blocking as well. Eccles hints that the feature may arrive later this year, so we may see it at the launch of the Pixel 8.
