Valve receives certification for mysterious game console
Valve Corporation has begun developing a different device, according to a listing in South Korea. The reason why this product is thought to be different is due to its numbering. While Steam Deck has the code “1010” and Valve Index VR has the code “1007”; The new console is called “1030”.
Valve’s new model is also described as a “dedicated low-power wireless device.” Early claims showed that it could be a wireless and affordable alternative to the Valve Index VR headset. The inclusion of Meta Quest 3 in the listing supports the claims that Valve has developed a new VR headset.
Valve has previously developed various hardware products such as Steam Machines and Steam Controllers, but has not found a response to users. New product categories such as Steam Deck and Valve Index VR are considered relatively successful.
Steam Machines, designed to compete with Windows, was discontinued due to low sales. The Steam Controller, which replaced the analog joysticks with trackpads, did not attract the attention of the players and its production was stopped in 2019.
Despite the setbacks, Valve does not hesitate to experiment with new consoles. The device with the code “1030” may also be a new one of these trials.
