A condition called Parry-Romberg Syndrome, a condition that is thought to suffer in the family, is a condition in which tissue on one side of the face is gradually depleted. Over time, as soft tissue (muscle and fat) shrinks, facial bones may change and the skin may become thinner. Excessive growth of hair, skin, eyelids, and mouth may occur.
