Fans of The Last of Us Part 2 can’t wait for the PS5 version of the game, as co-creator Neil Druckmann hints that the season 2 adaptation of HBO’s series will include deleted scenes known as Lost Episodes.
Deleted scenes from The Last of Us Part 2 may appear in the series!
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Druckmann shed light on additional content planned for the PS5 version, highlighting that some of these deleted scenes could make their way into the television series.
The Lost Chapters aim to provide players with insight into the original development of TLoU Part 2 and expand or add scenes that were cut from the final game. Druckmann sarcastically teased that “there is at least one element from a cut episode planned for the series.” However, he cautioned that since the series has not yet started filming, plans may change and decisions will be made based on what the creators believe is best for the series.
Fans should note that Naughty Dog designed these scenes to enhance the gaming experience, not with the HBO adaptation in mind. Druckmann explained that the series may differ from the original works to fit the setting, but that Lost Episodes is not indicative of the development of the HBO series. These primarily offer a look at the creative process behind The Last of Us Part 2.
Addressing potential misunderstandings, Druckmann reassured fans by saying that the remastered version of the game for PS5 aims to be “the best version” and is not setting scenes for the second season of the series. Despite the difference in some creative decisions between the game and the series, Naughty Dog emphasizes that the goal behind these additional levels is to deepen fans’ appreciation of the studio’s creative work.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be released for PlayStation 5 on January 19, and pre-orders will begin on December 5. Meanwhile, the second season of the series does not have a confirmed release date yet. What are you thinking? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
