Although we all think of fast, comfortable and expensive cars when it comes to BMW, the German automotive giant came up with an unexpected vehicle at the Cannes Film Festival. BMW, which showed the electric watercraft THE ICON, which we can also call the ‘new generation yacht concept’, to sea lovers and celebrities, was highly appreciated.
Before moving on to its technical specifications, to talk about its design; THE ICON is signed by the Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, who composed the soundtracks for many unforgettable films from Interstellar to Batman: The Dark Knight with the German boat builder TYDE. When viewed from the outside, the vehicle, which looks like it was created by putting a glass cage between two huge boat wings, offers a magnificent view when it is inside.

The silent voyage detail is important because THE ICON is an electric vehicle unlike other watercraft. It offers a range of 488-560 km with its electric motors and battery located under its body. Thanks to the advantage of the electric motor, when you set sail with THE ICON, you only hear the sound of seagulls and waves.
Such a modern vehicle, of course, is not steered like classical boats. Having a 32-inch 6K touch control panel, THE ICON offers features such as voice command and digital display in addition to its modern control panel.
