With the development of technology, the number of commercial space flights continues to increase. Finally, Virgin Galactic is added to this fury. The company is ready to embark on its first commercial space flight on Thursday, June 29, after years of testing. Here are the details about Virgin Galactic’s first commercial spaceflight:

VSS Unity is ready for first commercial spaceflight

Virgin Galactic announced its first commercial flight with a video it shared. Passengers in the vehicle, which will perform suborbital flights, will experience the zero gravity environment for a few minutes while enjoying the perfect view. Although this flight is classified as commercial, Virgin Galactic plans to conduct 13 different tests during the journey.

At VSS Unity will be Colonel Walter Villadei and Lieutenant Colonel Angelo Landolfi, both of the Italian Air Force, as well as Pantaleone Carlucci of the Italian National Research Council. Virgin Galactic instructor Colin Bennett will also be on the plane, which will be piloted by Mike Masucci and Nicola Pecile.

Virgin Galactic’s flights consist of two different tiers. First up, VMS Eve carries Unity and its passengers to an altitude of approximately 50,000 feet. Released after this point, Unity ignites its rocket engine, ascending to an altitude of approximately 282,000 feet, which is considered the starting point of space.

How to watch Virgin Galactic’s first commercial flight

The 90-minute mission will begin at 6 PM on Thursday, June 29, from Spaceport America in New Mexico. Virgin Galactic will share the live stream of the mission on its YouTube channel and also on its website. For possible changes to the program, you can check Virgin Galactic’s Twitter account.
