A decision has been made to remove crypto phenomenon Ben Armstrong, nicknamed BitBoy, from a critical case related to the FTX crash.
Amid the ongoing litigation regarding the collapse of FTX, crypto influencer Ben “BitBoy” Armstrong has been removed from the case, while three celebrities have opted to settle the case against them. The statements included in the court file created confusion about both BitBoy and the famous names mentioned in the case.

“Representative counsel is filing a Notice of Voluntary Dismissal of claims against FTX Defendant Ben Armstrong,” a court filing said. “It will submit a notification regarding its compromise on the Binance issue.” Armstrong “did not file a response or motion for summary judgment,” according to another court filing; that is, he did not respond to the lawsuit’s allegations or request that the court decide the case based on evidence presented without a hearing.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and YouTube influencers Kevin Paffrath and Tom Nash have agreed to settle the case, according to the filing. Settlement conditions have not yet been disclosed. The court order formally accepting the agreements and removing the three men from the ongoing case is currently pending approval by U.S. Magistrate Judge K. Michael Moore.
Lawrence and Nash were also listed in a dossier last week regarding the names and figures behind some of FTX’s marketing and sponsorship payments under former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.
This document listed millions of dollars in payments made to famous athletes such as Shaquille O’Neal, Naomi Osaka and David Ortiz, as well as organizations such as MLB and NBA’s Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors franchises. Coachella, Gamestop and Kevin O’Leary were also on the list. Other celebrities sued for promoting FTX include Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen and Steph Curry.
