Foxconn to invest half a billion dollars in India
Foxconn, Apple’s largest iPhone supplier, plans to invest in the Karnataka region in the south of India. The giant technology company aims to establish two new factories in the region where it will invest half a billion dollars.
Foxconn, which wants to reduce its dependence on China by turning to India, will thus ensure long-term work with Apple. The company also seeks to take advantage of the more relaxed business laws in the Karnataka region.
According to the information received, at least one of the two facilities that Foxconn will establish will focus entirely on Apple products. Foxconn plans to manufacture other Apple-signed technological devices, especially the new generation iPhone and iPad production, in line with the company’s targets at this facility.
Karnataka local authorities have also announced that Foxconn has previously approved that it will develop a facility in the region, and this facility is expected to create 50,000 jobs. Foxconn, which also received the necessary permissions from the Indian authorities to establish a facility, plans to start production in April 2024.
