Experts studied phone sales in more than 70 countries.In 2017, there were approximately 700 smartphone brands competing globally, but by 2023, that number had dropped to almost 250. Various reasons have contributed to this, such as growing user base, improving device quality and even the transition from 4G to 5G networks. Therefore, many local manufacturers, including Micromax in India and Symphony in Bangladesh, first reduced production volumes and then abandoned the mobile market altogether.

Many brands could not compete with the big tech giants: Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and others. Smaller companies did not have enough money for scientific research and production capacity. In addition, the quality of smartphones and tablets from established brands has always been stable and at a high level, while the quality of their products is low.
The Chinese market has played a role in the disappearance of many brands.
