OpenAI has released the “customizable instructions” feature, especially so that information that remains the same between different chats is not presented to the bot again. The feature is currently available in beta only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
So what exactly will this feature do?
One of the scenarios where the feature can be used was shared directly by OpenAI official Joanne Jang. These examples are listed as follows:
- If you’re a teacher, you can put the phrase “I’m teaching third graders” with specific instructions so that every time you ask for interesting information about the Moon, the bot can respond according to that age group.
- If you’re constantly eating and shopping, you can have ChatGPT always make suggestions for the portions you want.
- If you only code using one language, you can have ChatGPT always code in your preferred language.
